While the world goes collectively bonkers over election news (and that’s ALL I’ll say about that!), I have been busy celebrating the release of my debut novel, “The Girl in the Storm”! As I’m sure you’ve heard from me before, it’s been quite the wild ride and I have a feeling that ride is only just beginning. While I was stressing myself out over the Event That Shall Not Be Named, along with the impending release of my book, I received the copyedits on the second book in my series, “The Woman in Darkness”. I’ve been excited to dive back into this story for some time now, so the timing on that little event was absolutely perfect. I was blown away by the inciteful notes and the sheer thoroughness of my editor’s work, so I know this will be quite the fun experience.
Yes. I said fun. Who knew that editing could actually befun? I certainly didn’t. And yet, here I am, looking forward to diving headfirst into the edits on my second book. Speaking of my second book, as I’ve already teased before, I will be making an announcement about it this weekend. So, hop on over to my Instagram profile (@stanfieldwrites) this Saturday to find out what it is. It’s nothing earth shattering, mind you, but it’s still a little announcement that I’m fairly excited to make.
In other news… I’m two and a half chapters away from wrapping up the first draft on my long-planned novella. It’s a little story I’ve had in mind ever since completing “The Girl in the Storm”, and I hope that you will all enjoy the opportunity to join Genevieve Reidell on another adventure into darkness. (the poor girl does seem to get herself into trouble, doesn’t she?)This tale will take place between the last two chapters of Book 1 in A Season of Angels, answering a few questions that will undoubtably arise once you’ve had a chance to read through that novel. It promises to be quite harrowing little tale and will lead you straight into the dark adventure that awaits in the aforementioned sequel “The Woman in Darkness”. Yes, it does seem like my fictional world is beginning to expand quite a lot and promises to continue doing so for the foreseeable future. Would you be surprised to learn that I have at least two other trilogies in mind, all set in this same fictional world? Well, it certainly surprises me, and I’m the one dreaming up all this madness! Needless to say, it looks like I’ll be dabbling in this little world of mine for quite a while. A few years to say the least. And that is perfectly fine by me. I hope that you will all join me as I trek further into this dark, frightful world. There are, after all, many more stories left to tell.
That’s all for now, friends. If you haven’t already, head on over to Amazon or click on the “Novels” link on the home page of my site here to nab your copy of “The Girl in the Storm” And remember, once you’ve finished the book, leave a review. Reviews are vital for authors, especially for indie authors, so I would greatly appreciate your thoughtful words. Until next time, take care and keep your eyes peeled for more news and fun reveals.
A Season of Angels is only just beginning.
